Reliance Jio is
giving ageing computers a new lease of life with the wider rollout of JioPC, a
cloud-powered computing service that allows users to access enhanced computing
capabilities on their existing devices — without buying a new computer or
upgrading hardware. Now available as a standalone subscription to anyone with
an internet connection, irrespective of their telecom or broadband provider,
JioPC brings cloud computing and AI-ready performance to homes, schools,
professionals and small businesses across India.
Previously available
only to JioHome broadband subscribers, JioPC can now be accessed on existing
computers and desktops with an internet connection. The service enables users
to access up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of cloud storage, allowing them to extend
the useful life of older devices rather than replace them.
JioPC is particularly
suited to computers that are three to four years old and have begun to slow
down, run out of storage or struggle with outdated operating systems. By
shifting computing-intensive workloads to the cloud, the service offers an
alternative to purchasing new hardware or undertaking expensive upgrades.
Users can subscribe
to and activate JioPC in less than five minutes, with no need for data migration,
hardware installation or downtime. The service is designed to provide a
seamless way for users to modernise their computing experience while continuing
to use their existing devices.
The offering comes at
a time when computers in homes, schools and small businesses are ageing and
increasingly struggling to keep pace with the demands of modern, AI-enabled
applications. As the cost of replacing computing devices rises, cloud-powered
services such as JioPC offer consumers another way to access higher computing
performance without making a major hardware investment.
AI is rapidly
becoming an integral part of education, productivity and everyday computing.
JioPC is designed to help students and other users access AI-powered
applications even when their existing computers lack the processing power
required by today's software.
With
computing-intensive AI processing handled through the cloud, even an
eight-year-old computer can access the performance, storage and capabilities
needed for modern AI-powered applications, subject to a suitable internet
connection.
No new computer. No
hardware upgrades. Just a smarter, AI-ready computing experience.
JioPC is available in
two plans. The JioPC plan, offering
8GB RAM and 500GB of storage, is priced at ₹1,000 for two months, ₹2,000 for five months, and ₹4,000
for 10+2 months. The JioPC Ultra plan,
which offers 16GB RAM and 1TB of storage, is priced at ₹1,200 for two months,
₹2,500 for five months, and ₹5,000 for 10+2 months. All prices
are inclusive of GST.
With flexible
subscription options, JioPC provides consumers with a simple way to revive,
modernise and extend the life of existing computers across homes, schools,
professional environments and businesses.
As a cloud-based
service, JioPC requires a stable internet connection, including broadband or
reliable 4G/5G connectivity, for a smooth experience.
With JioPC, users can upgrade their computing capabilities without upgrading their computer.
