Jio has moved well
beyond telecom and its next decade will be driven by artificial intelligence,
connectivity and technology, with the company preparing to take technologies
developed in India to global markets, chairman Akash Ambani said.
In a letter to
employees marking Jio’s 10th anniversary, Ambani outlined the roadmap for the
company’s next phase, saying Jio is building its capabilities across digital
products, enterprise solutions and AI, alongside its core connectivity business.
“The next goal is not only to take these
technologies to millions of Indians at scale, but also to take them to markets
around the world,” Ambani said.
He described AI as
one of the biggest forces shaping the coming era, saying it will transform the
way people and businesses work, create new products and solve problems. Jio, he
said, is developing its technologies and digital platforms to be ready for this
transformation.
Ambani’s message
comes at a time when Jio is moving towards its next corporate phase, with the
process for a potential listing also progressing. However, the letter addressed
to employees placed greater emphasis on the company’s technology ambitions and
global expansion over the initial public offering.
Reflecting on Jio’s
decade-long journey, Ambani credited employees for playing a central role in
building the company. He said Jio’s story was not merely about numbers, but
about people who embraced challenges and worked with the customer at the centre
of their efforts.
Ambani also expressed special gratitude to his father and Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani for his vision and guidance, which he said made Jio’s journey possible.
“While there is much to be proud of in our first decade, there is still much more to achieve,” Ambani said, signalling a technology-led and globally ambitious roadmap for Jio’s next chapter.
