In a significant step towards protecting public health during
the monsoon season, JSW Foundation has launched a comprehensive dengue
elimination drive at Damu Hatting area under Ward No. 15 of Barbil. The
large-scale campaign, carried out under the guidance of the Barbil
Municipality, underscores the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to preventing
the spread of vector-borne diseases through scientific intervention, preventive
healthcare, and active community participation.
The extensive public health initiative has been designed to
safeguard residents against dengue, malaria, and other seasonal vector-borne
illnesses through a combination of preventive and awareness measures. As part
of the campaign, anti-larvae treatment is being carried out in every household
in the locality, while four rounds of fogging will be conducted across the
entire ward to systematically eliminate mosquito breeding grounds. The
initiative reflects JSW Foundation’s proactive approach to strengthening
community health and ensuring safer living conditions for residents during the
high-risk monsoon period.
The operation is being implemented with the active
participation of local volunteers and community members, whose coordinated
efforts are expected to create a healthier environment while significantly
reducing the risk of disease outbreaks. The Foundation believes that collective
action and community engagement are vital in combating seasonal health
challenges and building resilient neighbourhoods.
Speaking on the launch, a JSW Foundation official said: “Our mission is to protect lives by eliminating the root causes of vector-borne diseases.
