Paying a heartfelt tribute to its visionary founder Om
Prakash Jindal, fondly remembered as Bauji, on his 96th birth anniversary, JSW
Steel's Odisha Mines Division organised a series of meaningful initiatives that
reflected his enduring ideals of service, compassion, leadership and
nation-building. Marking the occasion with a blend of social responsibility and
employee welfare, the division organised a mega blood donation camp and
inaugurated a modern gym facility for employees, reaffirming its commitment to
the values and vision that continue to guide the JSW Group.
The commemorative programme witnessed enthusiastic
participation from employees across all mine locations and other business
units, showcasing their collective respect and admiration for the legendary
industrialist whose vision laid the foundation for one of India's leading steel
companies.
At the Barbil office, Business Head Prasanna Panda, Head (HR)
Chittaranjan Bahinipati, Head of Operations & Projects Ram Shankar Sharma,
Head (Finance) Ankur Dokania, along with other colleagues, paid floral tributes
to Om Prakash Jindal and reflected on his inspiring life, exemplary values and
immense contributions to the nation.
As part of the observance, a blood donation camp was
organised in collaboration with the District Headquarters Hospital, Keonjhar,
and the Keonjhar Blood Bank. The humanitarian initiative received an
overwhelming response from employees as well as members of the local community,
resulting in the collection of 163 units of blood. The donated blood was handed
over to the blood bank to support patients in need, reinforcing JSW Steel's
commitment to community welfare and healthcare.
The blood donation camp was led by Dr. Ganesh Panda, Chief
Medical Officer, Odisha Mines Division, along with Dr. Soubhagya Samal and Dr.
Manumangat Marand from the DHH, Keonjhar Blood Bank, whose dedicated efforts
ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the programme.
Further strengthening its focus on employee well-being, JSW
Steel also inaugurated a new gym facility at the JSW Residential Complex. The
state-of-the-art fitness centre is expected to encourage a healthier lifestyle
among employees and their families by promoting regular fitness and overall wellness.
Om Prakash Jindal was a pioneering industrialist whose visionary leadership played a transformative role in India's industrial and socio-economic development. His remarkable contributions to the steel sector earned him the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry in 2004. Beyond industry, he rendered distinguished public service as Haryana's Minister of Power, a member of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha and a representative in the Eleventh Lok Sabha. His inspiring legacy continues to motivate generations and remains the guiding force behind the JSW Group's values, growth and commitment to nation-building.
The observance of Bauji's 96th birth anniversary not only celebrated the life and ideals of an iconic leader but also reflected JSW Steel Odisha Mines Division's unwavering dedication to carrying forward his legacy through meaningful social initiatives, employee welfare and a steadfast commitment to creating a healthier and more inclusive society.
