 Reinforcing its commitment to community healthcare and national welfare, JSW Steel’s Odisha Mining Division successfully spearheaded a 100-day “TB-Mukt Bharat” campaign across its mining regions under the aegis of the Indian Bureau of Mines.

The extensive awareness initiative focused on educating communities about tuberculosis (TB), promoting early detection, and encouraging preventive healthcare practices in mining belts. As part of the campaign, awareness sessions, free TB screening camps, and distribution of educational pamphlets were conducted at Kasira village near Narayposhi Mines and at the Nuagaon Mines dispensary, witnessing enthusiastic participation from local residents and JSW employees alike.

Speaking on the occasion, Prasanna Panda, Business Head, JSW Steel Odisha Mining Division, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the nation’s mission of eliminating TB and encouraged people to undergo regular health check-ups if they experience symptoms.

Chittaranjan Bahinipati, Head-HR, highlighted that the campaign reflects JSW’s culture of care and responsibility toward employees and surrounding communities. He urged everyone to remain informed, adopt preventive measures, and prioritize their health and well-being.

The concluding ceremony held at Nuagaon Mines was attended by Arun Kumar, RCOM, Indian Bureau of Mines, Bhubaneswar, who emphasized the critical importance of awareness, vigilance, and early diagnosis in achieving the vision of a TB-free India.

The programme was also graced by Ram Shankar Sharma, Head of Operations & Projects, JSW Steel Odisha Mining Division; Dr. Shoubhagya Samal, Superintendent, CHC Barbil; Anurag Dwivedi, ACOM, Bhubaneswar; along with mine managers and senior officials of JSW Steel.

The campaign commenced with awareness sessions led by Dr. Ganesh Prasad Panda and successfully reached workers and communities across the mining region, reflecting JSW Steel’s continued dedication to industrial excellence coupled with social responsibility and public health advocacy.
