A vibrant spirit of patriotism, unity and national pride
swept across JSW Steel’s Odisha Mining Division as employees, leadership teams
and local communities came together to celebrate India’s 80th Independence Day
across its operational locations. From Nuagaon, Jajang, Ganua and Narayanposhi
mines to the Central Office in Barbil and the Bhubaneswar Office, the
celebrations reflected a shared commitment to the nation’s progress and the
enduring values of freedom, resilience and unity.
At the Narayanposhi Iron and Manganese Ore Mines, the
celebrations took on a particularly stirring character as the soul-stirring
strains of “Vande Mataram” reverberated through the surrounding hills, evoking
a deep sense of patriotism and pride.
The occasion was graced by senior leadership, including
Yogesh Bedi, Executive Vice President – Operations, JSW Mumbai; Prasanna Panda,
Odisha Mining Business Head; Ram Shankar Sharma, Head of Operations and
Projects; and Chittaranjan Bahinipati, Head of HR-Admin.
The proceedings commenced with the ceremonial hoisting of the
national flag by the chief guest, followed by the national anthem, setting a
solemn and reverent tone for the day. A disciplined and spirited parade by the
security team further added to the occasion, symbolising strength,
coordination, commitment and dedication to the nation.
Addressing the gathering, Yogesh Bedi said, “Independence Day
is a reminder of our collective responsibility to uphold the values of unity,
resilience, and progress. At JSW Steel, we take pride in contributing to the
nation’s growth while honoring its rich legacy.”
The celebrations continued with a colourful array of cultural programmes. Employees and local artists presented patriotic songs and dramatic skits that resonated deeply with the audience and brought alive the spirit of freedom and national pride. A special highlight was the captivating karate performance by young martial artists, whose precision, discipline and graceful movements drew enthusiastic applause.
The celebrations concluded on a celebratory note with the felicitation of the winners of the Independence Day painting competition. Their imaginative and vibrant artworks beautifully captured the spirit of freedom, patriotism and the aspirations of a progressive India.
