Reinforcing its commitment to sustainable and responsible mining, JSW Steel’s Odisha Mining Division has earned five significant accolades at the 27th Mines Environment and Mineral Conservation (ME&MC) Week 2025–26, organized under the aegis of the Indian Bureau of Mines in Bhubaneswar recently. The recognition highlights the company’s steadfast focus on environmental stewardship, scientific mining and operational excellence.

Narayanposhi Iron & Manganese Ore Mines led the tally with first prize in Environment Monitoring and third prizes in Sustainable Development and overall performance (Group-A). Nuagaon Iron Ore Mines secured second prize in Waste Dump Management, while Gonua Iron Ore Mines won third prize in Scientific Development. The awards were received by Prasanna Panda, Business Head, and Ram Shankar Sharma, Operations & Projects Head, along with their teams.

In a significant individual achievement, Dikshit Kumar Das of JSW Steel was conferred the prestigious “Mineral Conservation Bandhu” Award in the Executive Category, recognizing his contribution to mineral conservation initiatives.

Marking a major milestone, the ME&MC Flag was handed over to Panda, signifying that JSW Steel’s Odisha Mining Division will host the 28th ME&MC Week 2026–27. The honour underscores the company’s growing leadership in advancing sustainable mining practices and strengthening industry-wide environmental responsibility.
