In a significant
boost to India’s renewable energy ambitions, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan
Majhi recently inaugurated a state-of-the-art integrated solar cell and module
manufacturing facility in Bhubaneswar. The facility, developed under the joint
venture AMPIN Solar One Private Limited, marks a major stride toward
strengthening domestic solar manufacturing capabilities.
The venture brings
together two key players in the renewable energy ecosystem — Jupiter
International Limited and AMPIN Energy Transition Private Limited — to
establish a robust, end-to-end solar manufacturing platform in India. The
inauguration, held on April 8, signals Odisha’s growing prominence as a hub for
clean energy investments.
Designed to
manufacture high-performance solar cells and modules, the facility aims to
reduce reliance on imports while enhancing supply chain resilience within the
country. Industry observers view the project as a critical step in aligning
with India’s broader energy transition goals and its push for self-reliance in
green technologies.
Speaking on the occasion, Alok Garodia, Chairman and Managing Director of Jupiter International Limited, emphasized the strategic importance of the initiative. He noted that the facility represents a major leap toward building a strong domestic manufacturing backbone for India’s clean energy future. By combining scale, technological depth, and a focus on quality, the platform is expected to ensure a reliable supply of advanced solar components.
Jupiter International Limited, one of India’s leading photovoltaic solar cell manufacturers, has steadily built a reputation for technological innovation and manufacturing excellence. Its collaboration with AMPIN is expected to further accelerate the adoption of solar energy by delivering high-efficiency products tailored for both domestic and global markets.
