KIIT University and ABI-Showatech (India) Limited are actively implementing their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed in October 2025, through a series of initiatives focused on recruitment, talent development, research collaboration and industry integration.

As part of the initiative, ABI Showatech will facilitate the onboarding of 40 ITI and Diploma graduates already recruited from KIIT, while the recruitment of additional professionals is expected to be finalised next week. The collaboration aims to create a sustainable talent pipeline from KIIT to meet the company’s evolving workforce requirements.

Students selected from KIIT are currently undergoing internships at ABI’s Pullivalum manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu and will return to Odisha once the company’s upcoming greenfield plant in the state becomes operational in the coming years.

Expressing satisfaction over the initiative, the Founder of KIIT and KISS, Achyuta Samanta, said KIIT has always emphasised placement and skill development for its students. As a result, most Indian and multinational companies recruit students from KIIT through the campus placement process.

The partnership is also aimed at enhancing industry exposure for students through structured internships and hands-on training opportunities at ABI’s manufacturing facilities, with provisions for accommodation, meals and possible stipends.

On the research front, three joint proposals are currently under evaluation, with selected projects expected to commence shortly. The collaboration will focus on applied research in manufacturing process optimisation, materials engineering and supply chain innovation by leveraging KIIT’s academic expertise and ABI Showatech’s industrial strengths.

The partnership is expected to benefit both institutions through skilled manpower development, stronger industry linkages and collaborative innovation opportunities.

Among those present on the occasion were Dr. Ajay Pradhan, Vice President, KIIT; R. Ramanujam, Chairman, ABI Showatech; Dr. Mrutyunjay Jena, Dean, Aerospace Engineering; Dr. P. C. Mishra, Dean; Dr. Benugopal Mohapatra, Director, Consultancy; T. T. Hatagraveen, CFO, ABI; Dr. Debashish Deb, Adjunct Faculty and Consultant to ABI; and M. Sundar, Executive Director, ABI Showatech.
