Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK) and Nilachal Ispat Nigam
Limited (NINL) celebrated the 122nd birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna J.R.D.
Tata, one of India's most respected industrial pioneers, with a series of
commemorative events highlighting his enduring legacy of leadership,
innovation, and social responsibility.
The celebrations commenced with a solemn tribute ceremony at
the Tata Steel Kalinganagar Centre, where senior executives, employees, union
representatives and staff members paid floral tributes to the portrait of
J.R.D. Tata.

Kalinganagar, attended the programme as the Chief Guest, while Rabindra Kumar
Jamuda, President of the Tata Steel Kalinganagar Workers' Union, graced the
occasion as the Guest of Honour. Speakers at the event recalled J.R.D. Tata's unparalleled
contribution to Indian industry, nation-building and corporate ethics, urging
employees to uphold the values he championed throughout his life.
Adding a sporting dimension to the celebrations, the Tata
Steel Kalinganagar Sports Department organised a memorial run at the Sir
Dorabji Tata Sports Complex in the Kalinganagar Township. Employees and their
family members enthusiastically participated in the event, symbolising unity,
fitness and the spirit of teamwork that J.R.D. Tata believed in.
Reaffirming the Tata Group's commitment to community welfare,
the company organised a social outreach programme under which sports equipment
was distributed among students of Shalijanga Upper Primary School in Dangadi
Block. The initiative reflected the organisation's continued emphasis on
nurturing young talent and supporting education through meaningful community
engagement.
Across the Nilachal Ispat Nigam Limited (NINL) units,
including the Ferro Alloys Plant at Brahmanipal, similar tribute ceremonies were
held to honour the legendary industrialist. To encourage the younger generation
to learn about J.R.D. Tata's inspiring life and values, NINL organised a quiz
competition for employees' children based on his achievements, vision and
ideals.
A major highlight of the anniversary observance was the
voluntary blood donation camp organised by NINL in collaboration with the blood
banks of the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Jajpur, and the Community
Health Centre (CHC), Jajpur Road. The camp witnessed an overwhelming response,
with 304 volunteers — including employees, family members, vendor partners and
contract workers — coming forward to donate blood, demonstrating the
humanitarian values that J.R.D. Tata consistently advocated.
The grand celebration served as a fitting tribute to the
legendary visionary whose principles of ethical leadership, industrial
excellence and corporate social responsibility continue to guide the Tata
Group. The wide participation in tribute ceremonies, community service initiatives,
youth engagement programmes and blood donation activities underscored the
organisation's unwavering commitment to carrying forward J.R.D. Tata's legacy
of service to society and nation-building.
