Reinforcing its commitment to
inclusive development and social empowerment, National Aluminium Company
Limited (NALCO) organised an Assistive Device Distribution Camp for Divyangjan
at Nalconagar, Bhubaneswar, on March 20, 2026, through its CSR arm, NALCO
Foundation. The initiative aimed at enhancing mobility, accessibility and
independence for persons with disabilities, reflecting the company’s continued
focus on community welfare.
During the camp, a total of 100
assistive devices were distributed among 64 beneficiaries identified from the
Saliasahi slum located on the periphery of NALCO’s Corporate Office. The
distribution drive sought to improve the quality of life of Divyangjan by
providing essential aids that enable greater mobility, self-reliance and
dignity.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Tapas
Kumar Pattanayak, Director (HR), in the presence of Asutosh Rath, Executive
Director (HR), along with senior officials from NALCO, NALCO Foundation and
Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), which partnered
in facilitating the distribution of assistive devices.
NALCO’s sustained CSR initiatives have
consistently focused on empowering Divyangjan and strengthening community
support systems. The company has earlier organised similar camps across its
operational units, benefiting nearly 490 individuals through the distribution
of around 820 assistive devices, with a cumulative support of approximately
Rs.75 lakh. Through such targeted interventions, NALCO continues to advance
social equity and inclusive growth, reaffirming its role as a responsible
corporate committed to uplifting communities in and around its areas of
operation.
