Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has delivered an exceptional performance in
FY 2025-26, setting new benchmarks in both production and sales and achieving
the highest-ever operational results in its more than four-decade-long history.
Reinforcing its
leadership as a fully integrated player in the alumina and aluminium sector, state-run
NALCO registered record-breaking output across key segments. The company
achieved its highest-ever bauxite excavation of 77.01 lakh tonnes and bauxite
transportation of 77.07 lakh tonnes. Alumina hydrate production reached a
historic 23.00 lakh tonnes, while calcined alumina output stood at an all-time
high of 22.75 lakh tonnes. Cast metal production touched 4.72 lakh tonnes,
complemented by the highest-ever net power generation of 6,953 million units
and coal production of 40 lakh tonnes.
On the sales front,
the company recorded unprecedented performance, with total alumina sales
reaching 14.46 lakh tonnes and domestic alumina sales touching 1.38 lakh
tonnes. Aluminium metal sales climbed to a record 4.74 lakh tonnes, including
the highest-ever domestic aluminium metal sales of 4.61 lakh tonnes,
underscoring strong market demand and robust distribution efficiency.
The company also
demonstrated significant year-on-year growth across multiple operational areas.
Bauxite transportation increased by 6.13 percent compared to the previous
financial year, while calcined alumina production registered an impressive
growth of 11.16 percent. Aluminium cast metal production grew by 2.61 percent.
On the sales side, total alumina sales recorded a strong growth of 30.74
percent, while total aluminium sales increased by 2.82 percent over the
previous year.

Director Brijendra Pratap Singh expressed pride in the company’s outstanding
achievements while reviewing performance at the Annual Business Plan strategic
meet held at Angul. Congratulating employees and stakeholders for their
dedication and teamwork, he emphasized that the milestone reflects NALCO’s
unwavering focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement. “This
achievement reflects the dedication, discipline, and collective strength of our
employees. We have consistently striven to surpass our own benchmarks, and this
milestone further strengthens our path towards sustained business excellence,”
he said.
He further
highlighted the company’s strategic roadmap for future growth, stating that
NALCO will continue strengthening its capabilities through a sharper focus on
the 3Ps. “We must continue improving and expanding our capabilities to meet
future demands. Our progress will be driven by a renewed focus on the 3Ps -
Plant Efficiency, People Efficiency, and Process Efficiency,” said Singh. Emphasizing
the importance of innovation, he noted that digital transformation and green
initiatives will remain central to the company’s long-term growth strategy.
Singh also acknowledged the guidance and support of the Union Mines Ministry, along with the continued cooperation of the Odisha Government, which have played a crucial role in enabling NALCO’s sustained progress.
With this landmark performance in FY26, NALCO has further consolidated its position as a key contributor to India’s industrial growth and a leading global player in the aluminium sector, setting new standards for operational excellence and sustainable development among public sector enterprises.
