Industrialist and Member of Parliament Naveen Jindal on Friday announced an investment of over ₹70,000 crore in Jharkhand across steel, nuclear and renewable energy projects, underlining the group's long-term commitment to expanding India's manufacturing base and clean energy capacity.

The investment proposal was formalised through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the Naveen Jindal Group and the Jharkhand Government.

The proposed outlay includes ₹40,000 crore for steel projects that are expected to strengthen Jharkhand's manufacturing ecosystem and generate around 10,000 direct jobs. The expansion is also likely to spur significant opportunities for MSMEs, downstream industries and local entrepreneurs.

In a major diversification initiative, the group plans to invest ₹30,000 crore in nuclear energy projects, signalling its entry into one of India's emerging growth sectors. Jindal said dependable and affordable electricity is critical to sustaining industrial expansion, adding that nuclear power would provide clean, reliable, round-the-clock energy while supporting the growth of high-value sectors such as data centres and advanced manufacturing.

The investment blueprint also includes ₹650 crore for solar power projects, reinforcing the group's commitment to renewable energy and supporting Jharkhand's clean energy transition.

Announcing the investment, Jindal said Jharkhand's abundant natural resources, skilled workforce, strategic location and strong industrial ecosystem make it a preferred destination for long-term investments.

He said the fresh commitment would deepen the group's partnership with the state while contributing to its industrial and economic transformation.

According to the company, the proposed projects are expected to create more than 11,000 direct employment opportunities, besides generating several thousand indirect jobs across construction, logistics, manufacturing, services and allied sectors.

"The proposed investments reflect our confidence in Jharkhand's growth story. They will expand industrial capacity, create quality employment and strengthen the state's contribution to India's manufacturing competitiveness and clean energy ambitions," Jindal said.
