KALINGANAGAR, SEPTEMBER 4, 2026
Nilachal Ispat Nigam Limited (NIINL) organised a bicycle safety campaign
outside its plant premises at Kalinganagar, focusing on the safe movement and
visibility of bicycle riders, particularly during the evening and night hours.
As part of the initiative, retro-reflective stickers were installed on
311 bicycles to enhance their visibility on the roads and help improve the
safety of cyclists travelling in low-light conditions.
The campaign witnessed the active participation of 102 volunteers from
various departments, who extended their support in successfully carrying out the
initiative.
NIINL’s Chief of Operations and Maintenance, Vineet Ranjan Tripathy,
along with other senior officials, was present during the programme.
The campaign was jointly organised with the support of the company’s
Road and Rail Safety Sub-Committee (RRSSC), Safety Department, Security
Department, and Human Resources & Administration Department.
The initiative reflects NIINL’s commitment to promoting road-safety
awareness and the welfare of its employees and local communities. By improving
the visibility of bicycles on roads, particularly after dusk, the company seeks
to encourage safer commuting practices and contribute to a stronger culture of
road safety in and around the plant.
