initiatives aimed at strengthening educational opportunities.
The newly established
laboratories include the Mahendra Narzary Memorial Space Lab at Amguri Higher
Secondary School in Chirang; the Bijendra Wary Memorial Space Lab at Runikata
Higher Secondary School; and the Devicharan Brahma Memorial Space Lab at
Kachugaon Public High School in Kokrajhar. Each of the labs has been named
after noted personalities of the region who made significant contributions to
the social and educational development of the area.

The Education Space
Labs, established at a cost of ₹20
lakh per centre with a total project investment of ₹60 lakh, have been designed
to provide students with practical exposure to space science,
astronomy and emerging technologies. Each laboratory is equipped with more than
30 scientific learning tools and demonstration models, including telescope
systems, demonstration rockets, educational drones, space suits, satellite
imagery learning kits and several other interactive science modules aimed at
making science education engaging, practical and experiential for students.
These facilities will
enable students to understand complex scientific concepts through hands-on
learning, demonstrations and experiments, thereby fostering curiosity and
strengthening scientific temperament among young learners.
Each of the centres
is expected to benefit over 1,000 students annually, providing them with
opportunities to explore space science, technology and innovation beyond
conventional classroom learning. The initiative is expected to inspire students
to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and research fields in
the future.
The dignitaries
present on the occasion appreciated the collaborative initiative between NTPC
Bongaigaon and the BTC Government in strengthening educational infrastructure
in the region. They highlighted that such initiatives play an important role in
nurturing young minds and expanding access to quality scientific learning in
rural and semi-urban areas of the Bodoland Territorial Region.
The programme was attended by school authorities, teachers, students, representatives of the local administration and officials from NTPC Bongaigaon.
The establishment of these Education Space Labs reflects NTPC Bongaigaon’s continued commitment to community development and educational empowerment, while supporting initiatives that promote innovation, scientific thinking and knowledge-driven growth among the youth of Bodoland.
