Reaffirming its commitment to
environmental sustainability, NTPC Bongaigaon marked World Earth Day with a
plantation drive centred on the theme “Our Power, Our Planet.” Organised by the
Environment Management Group (EMG) Department, the initiative underscored the
organisation’s continued focus on ecological stewardship and sustainable
living.
Arnab Maitra, Head of Project,
NTPC Bongaigaon, inaugurated the drive by planting saplings in the presence of
senior officials from various departments. As part of the observance, more than
30 saplings, including fruit-bearing and native species, were planted across
the township and plant premises.
On the occasion, Maitra
highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in tackling climate change
and preserving biodiversity. He also appreciated the efforts of the EMG
Department in organising the programme and encouraged employees to adopt
environmentally responsible practices in their daily lives.
