NTPC’s flagship Electron Quiz 2026-27, aimed at nurturing curiosity, analytical thinking and forward-looking minds among young students, will kick off its regional round in Lucknow on September 5.

Hosted by NTPC Northern Region Headquarters (NRHQ), the regional round will be held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow, bringing together students from reputed engineering and management institutions across Uttar Pradesh.

Themed “The World of Business Management”, the competition is designed for engineering and management students, with each team comprising two members.

The Electron Quiz will be conducted across nine regional locations -- Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Raipur, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Noida.

The Lucknow regional round promises attractive cash prizes, with the winning team receiving Rs 60,000, the runners-up Rs 40,000 and the team securing third position Rs 20,000. Teams finishing fourth to sixth will receive consolation prizes of Rs 8,000 each.

The competition will also offer participants a pathway to the national stage. The top two teams from each regional round will qualify for the national semifinals, while the top two teams from each semifinal will advance to the national finals.

The national semifinals and finals will be held at NTPC’s Power Management Institute (PMI), Noida, on October 7 and 8, respectively.

At the national level, the competition will feature a first prize of Rs 1 lakh, while the second- and third-placed teams will receive Rs 60,000 and Rs 40,000, respectively. Teams securing fourth, fifth and sixth positions will be awarded Rs 16,000 each, while the remaining 12 teams will receive Rs 8,000 each.

Through the Electron Quiz, NTPC seeks to provide students with a platform to sharpen their knowledge, business awareness and competitive spirit while encouraging them to engage with emerging ideas and developments shaping the world of business and management.
