Hindi Pakhwada was inaugurated
with enthusiasm at NTPC Northern Region Headquarters here on Monday, with
senior officials calling upon employees to make greater use of Hindi in
day-to-day official communication.
The fortnight-long celebrations,
being organised from September 14 to 28, will feature a range of programmes and
competitions aimed at encouraging the wider use of Hindi across NTPC's Northern
Region.
S. N. Panigrahi, Executive
Director (HR), Northern & South Region, administered the Hindi Diwas pledge
to employees and urged them to maximise the use of Hindi in their routine
official work. He also stressed the need to regularly review and further
strengthen the use of Hindi across projects under the Northern Region.
In his Hindi Appeal to employees,
Panigrahi underlined the importance of Hindi and recalled that September 14,
1949, marked the adoption of Hindi as the Official Language of the Union.
Rahul Sharma, AGM (HR), welcomed
the Executive Director and highlighted the significance of Hindi Diwas. He
encouraged employees as well as their family members to participate
enthusiastically in the competitions being organised as part of the Hindi
Pakhwada.
Sharma also highlighted
initiatives undertaken by NTPC Northern Region Headquarters to promote Hindi in
everyday official work, including Hindi workshop-cum-review meetings aimed at
improving and assessing the use of the language.
The celebrations will feature
several engaging competitions, including essay writing, poetry recitation and
slogan writing. A Hasya Kavi Sammelan will also be organised, adding a cultural
dimension to the fortnight-long programme.
The initiative is aimed at
creating greater awareness about the importance of Hindi while fostering a
culture of increased Hindi usage in official communication and workplace
activities across NTPC's Northern Region.
