Reaffirming its
commitment to environmental sustainability and climate action, NTPC Northern
Region Headquarters celebrated World Environment Day with great enthusiasm
under the theme, "Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future."
The event highlighted the organization's continued efforts to foster ecological
awareness and promote environmentally responsible practices.
The celebrations
commenced with Rajesh Jha, AGM (TS), administering the Environment Day Pledge
in the presence of senior officials and employees, encouraging collective
responsibility towards protecting the environment. The message of the Director
(Operations), NTPC Limited, on the occasion was also shared with employees,
reinforcing the organization's vision for sustainable growth and environmental
stewardship.
As part of the
observance, employees participated in a tree plantation drive within the office
premises, contributing to afforestation efforts and enhancing the green cover
of the campus.
Addressing the gathering, Vipul Srivastava, AGM (Environment Management/OS), emphasized the significance of World Environment Day and underscored the need for collective action to address environmental challenges and ensure a sustainable future. He highlighted the vital role individuals and organizations can play in conserving natural resources and mitigating the impacts of climate change.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees across departments, reflecting NTPC's strong environmental ethos and its commitment to creating a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable future for generations to come.
