NTPC Northern Region
Headquarters (NRHQ), Lucknow, organised a Gender Sensitisation and POSH
(Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Awareness Programme for its employees with
the objective of fostering a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace.
The programme was
graced by S. N. Panigrahi, Executive Director (HR), NR & SR. The session
was conducted by Veenu Kakkar, Associate Facilitator, Leading Teams, who has
over 25 years of experience of working with organisations, including the United
Nations.
Speaking on the
occasion, Panigrahi said that it was a privilege to have Kakkar as the faculty
for this sensitive and important subject and expressed confidence that the
session would be beneficial for employees.
The interactive
session sensitised employees on key provisions of the POSH Act, 2013, covering
prevention of sexual harassment, appropriate workplace conduct, reporting
mechanisms and the role of the Internal Committee (IC).
To make the programme more engaging and practical, case studies were shared with the participants, who were also divided into groups for joint exercises. The activities enabled employees to examine workplace situations and better understand the appropriate mechanisms and responsibilities involved.
The programme also provided employees an opportunity to clarify their queries and gain a deeper understanding of their individual and collective responsibilities towards maintaining a dignified, safe and harassment-free workplace.
