Administration of Ri-Bhoi, Meghalaya, for the establishment of STEM (Science,
Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) laboratories in 27 government schools
across the district under its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
initiative for Northeast India.

strengthening educational infrastructure and promoting experiential learning
among students in the region.

Under
the initiative, NTPC will provide financial assistance of up to ₹1.48 crore for setting up state-of-the-art

temperament, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving
skills among students.
The
initiative will encompass infrastructure development, procurement of modern
STEM equipment, teacher training, and comprehensive maintenance support. The
laboratories will feature advanced learning tools, including robotics kits,
renewable energy models, electronics modules, and digital learning aids.
The
District Administration of Ri-Bhoi will serve as the implementing agency,
overseeing execution, procurement, quality assurance, and coordination with
beneficiary schools. NTPC, as the funding partner, will closely monitor the
project's progress through periodic reviews, site visits, and impact

A
key component of the programme is structured teacher training, along with
baseline and endline assessments to measure improvements in learning outcomes
and evaluate the overall impact of the initiative.
The
project is expected to benefit a large number of students across Ri-Bhoi
district by providing them with hands-on exposure to scientific concepts and
encouraging innovation at the grassroots level.
Aligned
with national priorities to promote STEM education and build future-ready
talent, particularly in underserved regions, the initiative underscores NTPC's
unwavering commitment to community development through education, skill
enhancement, and capacity building.
Through
this partnership, NTPC and the Ri-Bhoi District Administration aim to create a
sustainable ecosystem for quality education and empower young minds with the
skills needed to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.
