Reinforcing Odisha’s growing stature
as a national model in power distribution reforms, Tata Power-led distribution
companies have secured top positions in the Consumer Service Ratings of Discoms
(CSRD) Report for FY 2024–25 released by the Ministry of Power. All four
utilities — TPCODL, TPSODL, TPWODL and TPNODL — have earned A ratings,
highlighting their consistent excellence in delivering reliable and
consumer-centric electricity services across the state.
The achievement underscores the
transformative impact of the public-private partnership between Tata Power and
the Government of Odisha, which has significantly strengthened the efficiency,
reliability and responsiveness of power distribution services. Serving nearly
one crore consumers, the DISCOMs have demonstrated sustained commitment to
providing uninterrupted and quality electricity supply while enhancing consumer
satisfaction.
According to the report, the utilities
secured A and A+ ratings in crucial consumer-focused parameters such as fault
rectification and grievance redressal, reflecting their proactive approach
towards timely resolution of customer concerns. Notably, all four DISCOMs
achieved A+ ratings in operational reliability, indicating significant
improvements in network performance, reduced outages and enhanced service
continuity across urban and rural areas.
The latest recognition builds upon
earlier accolades this year, when two Tata Power-led Odisha DISCOMs secured A+
ratings in the Fourteenth Integrated Ratings and Rankings Report of Power
Distribution Utilities for FY 2025 by the Ministry of Power, reaffirming their
consistent performance across national benchmarking frameworks.
The fifth edition of the CSRD Report
saw participation from 66 utilities across the country and serves as an
important assessment tool enabling power distribution companies to identify
performance gaps, adopt best practices and continuously improve service
delivery standards. The strong performance of Odisha’s DISCOMs highlights the
success of reforms focused on digitalisation, operational efficiency and
customer engagement, contributing significantly to the state’s socio-economic
development.
With continued focus on innovation,
service reliability and consumer satisfaction, Tata Power-led DISCOMs are
setting new benchmarks for the power sector nationwide, positioning Odisha as a
leading example of effective power sector transformation in India.
