Odisha is set to host
the prestigious Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Eastern Region Council
meeting, bringing together industry leaders and representatives from eastern
states including Bihar, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand to deliberate
on regional growth and economic cooperation.
Ahead of the
high-level event, CII Odisha Chapter Chairman Anil Singh and Vice-Chairman
Manikanta Nayak met Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan on
Friday to discuss preparations and the agenda for the upcoming conclave.
The meeting is expected
to focus on the collective role of eastern Indian states in advancing the Prime
Minister’s “Purvodaya” vision, aimed at accelerating inclusive development
across the region. During the conference, the Chief Minister is slated to
present Odisha’s development roadmap, highlighting the state’s future plans and
policy direction.
Officials said the event will showcase Odisha’s rapid strides in industrial growth, infrastructure expansion and investment promotion, reinforcing the state’s emergence as a major economic hub in eastern India. The Chief Minister underscored that Odisha’s active participation reflects its strong commitment to regional cooperation, sustainable development and shared prosperity.
The CII Eastern Region Council meeting is also expected to strengthen inter-state partnerships and open new avenues for industrial collaboration, investment opportunities and socio-economic advancement across eastern India.
