Odisha is seeking to
strengthen its position as a global hub for sustainable industry and the
circular economy, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inviting investors to
explore opportunities in metal recycling, secondary aluminium and steel,
advanced material recovery and other green technologies.
Majhi held an
industry roundtable in Dubai with representatives of the Bureau of Middle East
Recycling (BMR) Association and JSW Group, where discussions focused on metal
recycling, circular economy, resource efficiency and value-added manufacturing.
Highlighting Odisha's
strong metals and manufacturing ecosystem, the chief minister said the state
offers significant opportunities for investments in emerging areas linked to
resource efficiency and sustainable industrial development.
The interaction also
explored possibilities for technology collaboration and adoption of sustainable
industrial practices to develop a globally competitive recycling ecosystem in
Odisha.
The discussions assume significance as Odisha seeks to leverage its established industrial base and strengthen downstream and value-added activities in the metals sector, while promoting more efficient use of resources and greater circularity in manufacturing.
The state is positioning itself to attract investments in next-generation recycling and advanced material recovery technologies, with a focus on creating an ecosystem that can support sustainable industrial growth and enhance the value of recovered resources.
