Odisha Chief Minister
Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday invited stainless steel downstream industries in
the UAE to explore investment opportunities in the state, highlighting its
abundant natural resources, robust industrial ecosystem and growing scope for
value-added manufacturing.
Majhi made the pitch
while participating in a roundtable discussion with leading stainless steel
downstream industry representatives in Dubai on the second day of Odisha’s UAE
investor outreach programme.
The interaction
brought together senior representatives from PGI Group UAE, MTC Group
(Metallurgy), Hidayat Group (Stainless Steel Service Centre), Khira Group and
PTCL Infra, providing a platform for a detailed exchange on investment
prospects and industrial opportunities in Odisha.
Addressing the
gathering, the Chief Minister outlined the state’s strengths in natural
resources and industrial capabilities, and explained how Odisha is leveraging
its resource base to promote greater value addition, industrial development and
downstream manufacturing.
He also highlighted
the supportive ecosystem being created by the state government to facilitate
fresh investments, strengthen industrial activity and enable businesses to
expand their operations in Odisha.
“Odisha offers a strong combination of
abundant natural resources, industrial capabilities and a supportive investment
ecosystem. We invite the stainless steel downstream industries to explore the
opportunities in Odisha and become partners in the state’s journey of
industrial growth and value addition,” Majhi said.
The detailed
presentation and ensuing interaction generated keen interest among the
participating companies, with industry representatives expressing their
interest in exploring investment opportunities in Odisha and assuring the Chief
Minister of further engagement, according to a statement issued by the state
government.
