Odisha Mining
Corporation Ltd. (OMC) has achieved its highest-ever mineral production in FY
2025–26 (FY26), clocking an impressive 44.82 million tonnes and reinforcing its
position as a key driver of Odisha’s industrial growth and national economic
momentum.
Leading the strong
performance, iron ore production reached a remarkable 40.02 million tonnes,
registering a robust 12.06% year-on-year growth. Chrome ore output stood at
1.69 million tonnes, while bauxite production touched 2.83 million tonnes,
reflecting enhanced operational efficiency, improved coordination, and focused
execution across mining operations.
OMC also reported
total mineral sales of 42.524 million tonnes during the fiscal year,
contributing to its highest-ever provisional revenue of Rs 25,300 crore. The
achievement underlines the Corporation’s growing contribution to strengthening
Odisha’s industrial ecosystem while supporting infrastructure development and
core sector growth at the national level.
Reaffirming its commitment to responsible resource management, OMC continued to adopt scientific and sustainable mining practices. The Corporation implemented dust suppression systems, afforestation initiatives, water conservation measures, and modern IT-enabled technologies to ensure environmentally responsible and safe operations.
Through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, OMC actively supported communities residing in mining regions by investing in healthcare, education, drinking water supply, sanitation, livelihood promotion, skill development, and rural infrastructure. These initiatives have significantly contributed to inclusive growth and improved quality of life in surrounding areas.
