celebrated Utkal Divas with grandeur and vibrant enthusiasm, creating a festive
and culturally rich atmosphere across the campus.
The celebration began
with an insightful address by Sirish Kumar Mishra, Head of the Odia Department,
who highlighted the historical significance of Utkal Divas and its deep
emotional connect with the people of Odisha.
The formal
inauguration of the programme took place with the ceremonial lighting of the
lamp by the Principal, Dr. Ashwini Kumar Sahu, in the presence of senior
faculty members. Floral tributes were offered to the portraits of eminent
personalities of Odisha as a mark of respect for their invaluable contributions
to the state’s identity and pride. The gathering resonated with patriotic
fervour as students and teachers collectively rendered the iconic song ‘Vande
Utkal Janani’, followed by a mesmerizing Odissi dance performance that
beautifully reflected Odisha’s rich artistic heritage.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who delivered thoughtful speeches on the importance of Utkal Divas, elaborating on the glorious history, vibrant culture, and timeless traditions of Odisha. Adding literary charm to the celebration, a Kavi Sammelan was organized, where young poets showcased their creativity and love for their mother tongue.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Ashwini Kumar Sahu extended warm greetings on the occasion and encouraged students to take pride in their cultural roots while striving to preserve and promote the rich legacy of Utkal. The celebration concluded with the distribution of prizes to students who excelled in various competitions, making the event a memorable tribute to Odisha’s heritage and spirit.
