In a significant boost to India’s maritime trade performance, Paradip Port Authority (PPA) has crossed an impressive 150.22 Million Tonnes (MMT) of cargo throughput on March 19, 2026, achieving the milestone with 12 days still remaining in the financial year 2025–26.

Continuing its strong growth trajectory, the port has once again demonstrated its operational strength by reaching this landmark ahead of schedule. The achievement underscores PPA’s sustained focus on efficiency, capacity enhancement, and seamless logistics operations despite evolving market dynamics.

This milestone reflects sustained operational excellence, improved efficiency, and the dedicated efforts of the entire port community, ensuring a resilient upward trend throughout FY 2025–26. With momentum firmly on its side, the port is now poised to set a new all-time record in cargo handling, further cementing its strategic role in strengthening India’s maritime trade ecosystem.

Growth across major cargo segments, coupled with continuous system improvements and robust infrastructure development, has played a crucial role in enabling this achievement. The consistent performance highlights the port’s ability to adapt and expand amid increasing trade demands.

To celebrate the accomplishment, a cake-cutting ceremony was held in the presence of Chairman P. L. Haranadh and Deputy Chairman T. Venu Gopal, along with Heads of Departments and senior employees, marking a moment of collective pride and achievement for the Paradip port community.

On this occasion, Chairman P. L. Haranadh expressed his gratitude to Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, for his continued guidance and support. He congratulated all officers, employees, port users, stevedores, shipping agents, trade unions, and PPP operators for their dedication and contribution to achieving this milestone. He also acknowledged the support of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Government of Odisha, Indian Railways, Customs, and other stakeholders.
