Paradeep Phosphates Limited (PPL) on Saturday inaugurated two
community-focused projects in Jagatsinghpur district under its CSR initiative
‘Navratna Prayas’, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive and sustainable
development in villages surrounding its Paradeep operations.
The projects, a Community Learning Centre at Chanakana
village under Paradeep Garh Gram Panchayat and a Community Library at
Mangarajpur village, were inaugurated by Odisha Industries and Skill
Development Minister Sampad Chandra Swain and Jagatsinghpur MP Dr Bibhu Prasad
Tarai, in the presence of S Girish, CMO and Unit Head, PPL; Sumit Senapati, CGM
(HR & IR); senior company officials, local representatives, beneficiaries
and community members.
The newly established facilities are aimed at improving
access to essential community resources, strengthening learning opportunities
and contributing to the overall socio-economic well-being of people living in
the region.
Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries appreciated PPL’s
efforts to extend its CSR interventions beyond conventional infrastructure
creation and focus on initiatives capable of generating long-term community
value, inclusion and empowerment. They also underlined the importance of strong
industry-community partnerships in advancing sustainable development in the
region.
PPL’s CSR programmes are guided by its vision of being a
“trusted partner towards inclusive Community Empowerment and Growth”. Through
‘Navratna Prayas’, the company undertakes need-based interventions across key areas
such as WaSH, nutrition and healthcare, education, empowerment, environment and
rural development, with an emphasis on creating measurable and sustainable
impact.
S Girish reiterated PPL’s commitment to working closely with local communities and stakeholders, saying the company’s CSR programmes are designed around identified community needs and seek to strengthen the social and economic ecosystem in and around its operational areas.
The inauguration marked another step in PPL’s ongoing efforts to create sustainable social infrastructure and support inclusive community development in Jagatsinghpur district.
