Indian boxers Vishvanath Suresh and Sachin delivered commanding performances on Day 3 of the prestigious Asian Boxing Championships in Ulaanbaatar, advancing to crucial next-round bouts and reinforcing India’s growing momentum at the continental showpiece.

Competing in the men’s 50kg division, Vishvanath Suresh showcased technical superiority and tactical discipline to secure a dominant 5-0 unanimous decision victory over Bekzat Ergeshov of Kyrgyzstan. Suresh controlled the tempo throughout the bout with precise combinations and effective ring movement, underlining his strong medal prospects.

The Indian pugilist now faces a formidable challenge against Sanzhar Tashkenbay of Kazakhstan, the reigning World Champion (2025) and World Cup winner (2025), in what promises to be one of the most keenly watched contests in the weight category.

In the men’s 60kg division, Sachin displayed composure and resilience to clinch a 4-1 split decision win against local contender Buyandalai Bayarkhuu of Mongolia. The closely fought contest tested Sachin’s defensive awareness and counter-attacking skills, helping him progress further in the competition.

Sachin is set to meet Cheng-Wei Lee of Chinese Taipei in his next bout, as the competition intensifies among Asia’s top boxing talents.
