Reliance Consumer
Products Ltd (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries Ltd, on Tuesday
entered the country's ice cream market with the launch of Bombay Creamery,
seeking to tap the growing demand for premium-quality products at affordable
prices.
The company said the
launch marks its dedicated entry into the ice cream category and reflects a
long-term commitment to building a strong presence in the segment.
Backed by Reliance's
national distribution network, retail scale and consumer insights, Bombay
Creamery will offer ice creams made with real dairy cream and authentic dairy
ingredients.
The brand is
positioned as an "accessible premium" dairy offering and will operate
under RCPL's broader promise of "Global Quality at Affordable Price".
"We built Bombay
Creamery around one simple idea that dairy shouldn't need shortcuts. RCPL is
not just entering the ice cream category — we're committing to it," T
Krishnakumar, Director, Reliance Consumer Products Ltd, said.
"Made with real
dairy cream, Bombay Creamery guarantees the promise of genuine taste of a real
ice cream every single time, at a price every Indian family can afford,"
he said.
The portfolio
comprises a range of ice creams across popular formats, including cones, cups,
tubs, bars and sticks. Prices will start at Rs 10, making the products
accessible to a wide consumer base.
The products will
initially be available across Western India and will subsequently be rolled out
across the country, the company said.
The launch comes as
RCPL continues to expand its presence across India's fast-moving consumer goods
market by leveraging Reliance's extensive retail and distribution ecosystem.
With Bombay Creamery,
the company is seeking to combine premium positioning with mass-market pricing,
while differentiating its offering through the use of real dairy cream.
The move is expected to intensify competition in India's ice cream market, where established players and emerging brands are increasingly focusing on product innovation, affordability and wider distribution.
RCPL said Bombay Creamery is designed to make a quality ice cream experience accessible to Indian families while maintaining consistency in taste and product quality as the brand expands nationwide.
