Reinforcing its
commitment to workplace and community well-being, Reliance Jio is observing
National Safety Month with a wide range of impactful awareness campaigns and
engagement activities across Odisha. The month-long initiative features safety
drills, interactive learning sessions, awareness drives, and creative
competitions aimed at promoting a strong culture of safety among employees,
their families, and the wider public.
The campaign was launched
earlier this month in Bhubaneswar by Gaurav Kumar, State Business Head,
Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, marking the beginning of a comprehensive series of
programmes aligned with the theme of the 55th National Safety Month — ‘Engage,
Educate and Empower People to Enhance Safety’. The initiative emphasises the
importance of proactive safety practices and encourages stakeholders to
actively participate in building safer workplaces and communities.
As part of the
awareness campaign, a variety of activities have been organised across multiple
Jio facilities in the state, highlighting the significance of occupational
safety, health awareness, road safety protocols, and the proper use of personal
protective equipment (PPEs) at workplaces. Through structured sessions and
interactive engagements, participants are being sensitised to safety best
practices that can prevent accidents and ensure preparedness in everyday work
environments.
In addition to formal
awareness sessions, Jio has introduced engaging activities such as painting and
poster-making competitions, safety pledge initiatives, quiz contests, and
distribution of safety badges. These programmes have witnessed enthusiastic
participation from employees and their families, particularly children, helping
instill awareness through creative expression and practical learning. Events
have been conducted across key cities including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Brahmapur,
Rayagada, Bhawanipatna, Keonjhar, Angul, Sambalpur, Rourkela, Baripada, and
Bhadrak, ensuring wide outreach across Odisha.
The initiatives are
designed not only to educate but also to inspire behavioural change by making
safety a shared responsibility. By encouraging involvement at every level, the
campaign aims to nurture a proactive safety culture that extends beyond
workplaces into homes and communities.
Notably, National
Safety Month is spearheaded by the National Safety Council of India, beginning
with National Safety Day observed on March 4, which commemorates the Foundation
Day of the National Safety Council. Through its extensive awareness efforts,
Reliance Jio reiterates its commitment to fostering a culture where safety remains
a priority, ensuring the well-being of employees, their families, and society
at large.
