Rosmerta Digital Services Ltd. (RDSL) and the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) have joined hands to simplify vehicle compliance for owners and dealers, particularly in cases involving pending traffic challans during the sale, purchase or transfer of vehicles.

The two organisations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under which RDSL will expand access to its compliance services platform, Rosmart, across the automotive retail network. The platform, available at Rosmart.com, is designed to provide citizens with a digital avenue to check challan-related details and take steps to address pending traffic violations.

The initiative comes at a time when unresolved traffic violations can complicate vehicle transactions, particularly in the pre-owned vehicle market. Challans may originate in different cities or even across States, making it difficult for vehicle owners and dealers to identify and resolve outstanding compliance requirements.

The partnership also seeks to address growing concerns over unauthorised websites and intermediaries offering challan-related services. Such platforms can expose citizens to fraudulent transactions and cybercrime risks. By providing access to a credible digital channel, Rosmart aims to make the process more transparent while reducing the dependence on multiple online touchpoints.

Rosmart.com enables customers to check their traffic violation details, understand pending requirements and access services to address them. Participating dealerships can also assist customers directly. Dealers have the option of uploading cases in bulk, while customers can access the platform independently or scan QR codes available at participating dealerships and customer touchpoints.

For automobile dealers, the platform could help reduce the administrative friction associated with unresolved challans, which can otherwise delay vehicle exchanges, sales or transfers. For customers, it offers a single digital access point to navigate compliance-related requirements.

“Technology has real value when it makes everyday processes easier for people,” said Hariansh Nagpal, President, Rosmerta Digital Services Ltd. A pending traffic violation, he noted, could become a hurdle when a vehicle is sold or transferred. Rosmart.com has been developed to provide citizens with a simple digital destination to check challans and access services needed to address compliance requirements, he added.

FADA President Sai Giridhar said pending challans could be a significant obstacle in the vehicle ownership journey, especially in the pre-owned vehicle segment. “A vehicle may have challans originating from one city or even across multiple States, making their identification and resolution cumbersome for both the customer and the dealer,” he said.

Giridhar also pointed to the proliferation of unauthorised websites and intermediaries claiming to clear traffic challans, describing the associated fraud and cybercrime risks as a concern. The association with Rosmart, he said, would provide dealers and customers with a more credible, convenient and technology-enabled route for handling compliance.

The MoU was signed at FADA’s 8th Auto Retail Conclave in New Delhi in the presence of Sai Giridhar, Saharsh Damani, CEO, FADA, Hariansh Nagpal and Ravi Krishnamoorthi, Group President, Rosmerta Technologies Ltd.

Rosmart currently brings together compliance services for citizens and dealers, with plans to onboard additional citizen-centric services and service providers. The partnership with FADA is expected to extend the platform’s reach across India’s automotive retail ecosystem, positioning digital compliance as a more seamless part of vehicle ownership.
