Steel Plant (RSP) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with
Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) for the long-term supply of sulphur
pellets, a critical raw material used in the production of sulphuric acid at
the plant’s Coal Chemicals Department (CCD). The agreement, signed on July 3,
2026, is expected to strengthen supply chain reliability, enhance production
efficiency and support cost-effective operations.
The MoU signing
ceremony was held at the ED (MM) Conference Hall in the presence of Anil Kumar,
Executive Director (Materials Management). The agreement was signed by T.
Vinod, Chief General Manager (Materials Management), RSP, and Prakash Bharati,

for extension by another two years, ensuring a stable and uninterrupted supply
of the essential raw material.
The collaboration is aligned with RSP’s ongoing efforts to adopt best-in-class practices in procurement and strengthen its raw material sourcing strategy. The assured availability of sulphur pellets is expected to support sustained production, improve operational reliability and enhance overall efficiency at the Coal Chemicals Department.
