Puri Lok Sabha MP Sambit Patra on Monday inaugurated a dedicated stall for the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana at Delang in Odisha’s Puri district, as TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) stepped up efforts to promote rooftop solar adoption and facilitate access to government subsidies.

The stall has been set up under TPCODL’s Seva Setu outreach initiative as part of the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, aimed at bringing information, registration support and other scheme-related services closer to consumers at the grassroots level.

Pipili-Delang MLA Ashrit Pattanayak, the local Tahasildar, Block Development Officer and senior TPCODL officials were present at the inauguration.

During their visit, Patra and Pattanayak appreciated TPCODL’s efforts to encourage households to switch to rooftop solar energy. They also stressed the need for eligible beneficiaries to take timely advantage of the government subsidies available under the scheme, highlighting the importance of public awareness and local-level engagement in accelerating clean energy adoption.

Through its Seva Setu camps, TPCODL is providing on-the-spot registration assistance, information on government subsidies, guidance on bank loans and financing options, and support in selecting vendors for rooftop solar installations. The initiative is intended to simplify the adoption process and help consumers make informed decisions without having to travel far from their communities.

The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan was launched on September 17, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, and will continue until October 17.

TPCODL, which has recorded more than 79,400 rooftop solar installations across its operational area, is intensifying its consumer outreach to expand the adoption of renewable energy and enable more households in Central Odisha to benefit from the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.
