“Sustainability is not only about awareness, but about taking meaningful and collective action,” asserted Gajanan S. The event underscored TPCODL’s unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible business practices. Observed globally on June 5, World Environment Day serves as a platform to inspire collective action for environmental protection and restoration. Aligning with this year’s Tata Sustainability Month theme, TPCODL emphasized the importance of transforming awareness into action by encouraging employees, consumers and communities to actively engage in sustainability initiatives.

Addressing the gathering, Kale highlighted that sustainability can no longer remain confined to discussions and intent. He called upon employees to embrace environmentally responsible practices in both their personal and professional lives and play an active role in building a cleaner, greener and more resilient Odisha.

“As we celebrate World Environment Day, we are reminded that real progress comes from meaningful action. Through responsible operations, energy conservation initiatives and active community participation, TPCODL remains committed to driving positive environmental change. Tata Sustainability Month 2026 aims to inspire employees, consumers and communities to adopt sustainable practices and contribute towards a greener future for generations to come,” he said.

As part of the celebrations, employees took the World Environment Day pledge, while the company unveiled its environmental projects for the financial year and a series of sustainability engagements planned for the month-long campaign. Sapling plantation and seed-ball distribution drives were also organized across Circle, Division and Section Offices to promote environmental conservation and enhance green cover.

The Tata Sustainability Month 2026 programme will feature a diverse range of activities, including a World Environment Day e-Quiz, sustainability awareness campaigns in schools, plogging drives, “Best Out of Waste” initiatives, awareness emailers and interactive learning sessions. Competitions such as poster-making, slogan-writing and essay-writing for employees and their wards are also being conducted to foster creativity and environmental consciousness.

Through these initiatives, TPCODL continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship while encouraging employees, consumers and communities to become active partners in creating a sustainable future.
