Jewellery retailer Tanishq, part of the Tata Group’s Titan Company Ltd, on Monday inaugurated an 11,000-square-foot store at Saheed Nagar here, taking its total number of outlets in Odisha to 21 as it seeks to strengthen its presence in eastern India.

The new store, located at Maharshi College Square on Janpath Road, celebrates Odisha’s rich artistic and cultural heritage through contemporary architectural elements inspired by the state’s traditional crafts, including Pattachitra, Sambalpuri weaving, stone and wood carving, Jhoti Chita and golden grass craftsmanship.

The inauguration was attended by Sah Gaurav Krishna, Regional Business Head (East), Titan Company Ltd; Alok Ranjan, Circle Business Head for Odisha, West Bengal and the Northeast; and Yogendra Hans, Business Associate.

“With our 21st store in the state and the sixth in the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack twin-city region, Saheed Nagar is a craft-inspired destination that celebrates the heritage, culture and artistic traditions of Odisha, and offers customers a differentiated jewellery experience,” Krishna said.

He said Odisha had remained a warm and discerning market for the brand, with customer trust encouraging it to expand its retail footprint in the state.

“As the festive and wedding season begins, we look forward to welcoming families to celebrate their special moments with Tanishq. With this launch, we reaffirm our commitment to Odisha, our hallmark of trust, transparency and craftsmanship, and our promise to be a trusted partner in our customers’ most cherished moments,” he added.

The store’s design incorporates elements drawn from Odisha’s temple architecture and traditional textile arts. Its stone-carved facade takes inspiration from temple structures and Sambalpuri silk motifs, while the foyer features marble inlay work influenced by the geometric patterns of Jhoti Chita.

Other design elements include Pattachitra-inspired artwork, wall treatments reflecting Sambalpuri Ikat, Berhampuri Pata and Bomkai silk traditions, and a lotus-inspired chandelier. The bridal jewellery section, operating under the brand’s Rivaah sub-brand, features large-scale Pattachitra-inspired figures, golden grass installations made by artisans from an art village, and a carved wooden entrance.

The outlet offers a wide range of jewellery in gold, diamonds, natural-coloured and inspired gemstones, and polki. It also showcases Tanishq’s latest Diwali collection, ‘Adhyantara’, inspired by celestial elements such as stars, the moon, dawn and the universe.

Other collections available at the store include ‘Aagomon’, ‘Abahan’ and ‘Elan’, along with ‘GlamDays’, a daily-wear jewellery range, and ‘String It’, a lightweight contemporary collection. The store also houses ‘Dor’, a mangalsutra collection inspired by Hindu wedding traditions, ‘Aveer’, the brand’s jewellery line for men, and ‘Rivaah’, which caters to bridal traditions across different Indian communities.

To mark the launch, the company has announced promotional offers valid from October 26 to November 10. Customers can avail of discounts of up to Rs 301 per gram on gold jewellery, up to 20 per cent off on making charges for gold jewellery, and zero per cent deduction on the exchange of old gold above 18 karat, including jewellery purchased from other jewellers, according to the company.

The retailer is also offering a gold rate protection facility for advance bookings, under which customers can protect themselves against an increase in gold prices while benefiting from a lower rate if prices decline during the applicable period.

The launch comes ahead of the festive and wedding season, when jewellery retailers typically seek to attract consumers through new collections, store expansions and promotional schemes.

Tanishq said the new outlet was designed to combine the region’s cultural identity with the changing preferences of contemporary jewellery buyers.
