Tata Power has launched the fourth edition of its photography contest, ‘Oh My Beautiful Odisha 4.0’, inviting photographers and photography enthusiasts to capture the lesser-known beauty, culture, heritage and landscapes of Odisha. The contest, themed ‘Hidden Treasures of Odisha’, seeks to present the State beyond its familiar tourist imagery through authentic and creative visual narratives.

Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company, manages power distribution in Odisha in partnership with the State government. Through the latest edition of the contest, the company is encouraging participants to look beyond conventional tourist lenses and document the State’s relatively unexplored destinations, traditions, art forms, architecture, people, stories and landscapes.

The initiative seeks to bring to the fore the diverse cultural and natural character of Odisha, while providing photographers an opportunity to combine creativity with storytelling. Participants can interpret the theme in their own manner, presenting distinctive perspectives on the State’s identity and its lesser-known facets.

As many as 13 winning photographs — 12 representing the months and one for the cover — will feature in the Tata Power-led Odisha Discoms Calendar 2027. The photographers whose works are selected will be given due credit wherever their photographs are used. The winners will also receive attractive cash prizes in recognition of their contribution and the selection of their work for official use.

The entries will be assessed on parameters such as composition, creativity, originality, authenticity, storytelling and adherence to the theme. The winners will be announced at a live event that will celebrate the photographers and the distinctive stories and perspectives captured through their photographs.

Entries for the contest will remain open until September 20, 2026. Each photograph submitted must be less than 10 MB and must be uploaded through the designated contest link along with the participant’s name, mobile number, email ID, city and a brief description of the photograph.

Only colour photographs will be accepted. Black-and-white photographs, including toned images, will not qualify. Participants must submit original, unpublished works and must be the sole copyright owners of the photographs. Entries must not contain or incorporate material belonging to third parties or violate any third party’s publicity, privacy or intellectual property rights. All photographs must also be captured in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Participants will be required to provide a high-resolution digital file of a shortlisted photograph. Photographers who have participated in earlier editions are eligible to enter again, but they must submit fresh and new photographs; entries submitted in previous editions will not be considered.

Each winner will also have to sign a declaration vetted by the legal team, confirming the originality of the photograph and certifying that no filters or AI-generated or AI-enhanced elements have been used.

Upon selection, the shortlisted photographs will become the property of Tata Power-led Odisha Discoms, which will have the right to use them in its official publications, calendars, campaigns, digital platforms, social media, promotional materials and other communication initiatives. Photographers will be given due credit wherever their photographs are used, subject to the nature and format of the publication or communication medium.

The cash prizes will be treated as recognition of the winners’ contribution to the contest and the selection of their work for official use. By entering the contest, participants agree to the applicable terms governing the use and ownership of shortlisted photographs and will be required to furnish the declarations and consents prescribed by the organisers.

With ‘Oh My Beautiful Odisha 4.0’, Tata Power-led Odisha Discoms aims to create a visual archive of a State whose cultural richness and natural diversity extend well beyond its best-known landmarks, giving photographers a platform to bring its hidden stories into wider public view.
