In a significant step towards making technical education more accessible and affordable, Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) has announced a financial subsidy for students enrolled in core diploma programmes at its technical institutes. Effective from the academic year 2025-26, eligible students will receive ₹20,000 per semester, amounting to a total financial assistance of up to ₹1.2 lakh over the course of the diploma programme.

The subsidy will benefit students pursuing diploma courses at J N Tata Technical Education Centre (JNTTEC), Gopalpur, Ganjam, Odisha; R D Tata Technical Education Centre (RDTTEC), Golmuri, Jamshedpur; and Tata Steel Technical Institute (TSTI), Burmamines, Jamshedpur. These institutes are renowned for offering industry-oriented diploma programmes backed by modern infrastructure, experienced faculty, and strong industry linkages.

Announcing the initiative, Captain Amitabh, Head, Skills Development, Tata Steel Foundation, said, "Tata Steel Foundation remains committed to providing quality technical and skill-based education to youth in the communities where we operate. This initiative aims to ease the financial burden on students while expanding access to high-quality technical education. Implemented in partnership with Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF), it will ensure industry-relevant, world-class training."

J N Tata Technical Education Centre (JNTTEC), located in Gopalpur, offers a specialised Diploma in Mechatronics Engineering and Smart Factory – CP15. The programme seamlessly integrates mechanical engineering, electronics, automation, and digital manufacturing technologies, equipping students with the skills required for the evolving industrial landscape.

With a strong emphasis on hands-on learning, project-based training, and industry exposure, JNTTEC prepares students for successful careers in modern manufacturing and automation sectors. The institute boasts state-of-the-art infrastructure, including smart classrooms, advanced laboratories, a fully equipped workshop, and digital learning resources.
