Tata Steel’s Ore,
Mines & Quarries (OMQ) Division has been recognised with the prestigious
Mine Innovation Award for its outstanding contributions to digital initiatives
in the mineral sector. The award acknowledges the Division’s efforts to harness
advanced digital technologies to drive safer, smarter, more efficient and
sustainable mining operations. The honour was presented at the 5th
International Conference on Safe and Sustainable Mining Technologies and Mining
Expo 2026, organised by the Indian Mining & Engineering Journal (IMEJ) at
Tata Steel’s Valley Club, Joda.
The recognition
underscores Tata Steel’s continued focus on leveraging technology and
innovation to enhance operational excellence across its mining value chain.
Through a range of digital interventions, the OMQ Division has been advancing
the adoption of technology-driven solutions aimed at improving safety,
productivity, efficiency and sustainability in mining operations.

Tata Steel, received the award on behalf of the company at the conference.

The event provided a platform for knowledge exchange and discussions on the evolving role of digital technologies in transforming mining practices.
