Tata Consultancy
Services (TCS), a global leader in IT services, consulting and business
solutions, has announced a global strategic partnership with Anthropic, the
frontier AI company behind Claude, to help enterprises accelerate and scale
artificial intelligence adoption.
As part of the
collaboration, TCS will establish a dedicated business unit focused on
delivering customer-centric AI solutions, industry-specific innovations and
deep expertise on Anthropic’s Claude family of models through early access to
emerging capabilities.
The partnership aims
to address one of the biggest challenges facing enterprises today — moving AI
initiatives beyond the pilot stage. In highly regulated industries, concerns
around accuracy, auditability, governance and oversight often limit large-scale
deployment. By combining Anthropic’s advanced AI models with TCS’
implementation expertise, governance frameworks and engineering capabilities,
the two companies aim to enable organizations to confidently deploy AI in
production environments.
As a Global Premier
Partner in the Claude Partner Network, TCS will bring Claude models to
enterprises that require high levels of accuracy, resilience, integration and
governance. The collaboration encompasses large-scale internal deployment,
joint go-to-market initiatives, industry-focused co-innovation and workforce
enablement, offering customers a practical pathway to enterprise-wide AI
adoption and measurable business outcomes.
TCS will provide
enterprise-wide access to Claude for 50,000 associates across engineering,
finance, legal, marketing and sales functions. By deploying the technology
internally, the company expects to gain first-hand experience in transforming
its own operations while leveraging those insights to support clients on their
AI journeys.
The two companies
will jointly develop and market AI solutions across a broad range of
industries, including financial services, public services, life sciences,
healthcare, aviation, telecommunications and medical technology. The
partnership will focus on domain-specific workflows, modernization initiatives
and customer experience transformation, supported by TCS’ consulting,
engineering and managed services capabilities.
The collaboration
will also extend to TCS products, platforms and industry-specific solutions. In
the United Kingdom, Diligenta, TCS’ FCA-regulated life and pensions business
serving more than 22 million customers, will use Claude to enhance customer
experience through large-scale agentic process transformation. TCS’ BFSI
Products and Platforms teams will also leverage Claude Code to improve
productivity in software engineering and IT operations.
TCS iON, which
conducts more than 75 million assessments annually across 1,500 cities in
India, will deliver learning and certification programmes on Claude models,
helping create a future-ready and AI-certified workforce. In addition, TCS
plans to contribute domain-led engineering expertise to the Claude Code
ecosystem through reusable skills and plugins, including capabilities for
claims adjudication and lending advisory services.
N Chandrasekaran,
Chairman, Tata Sons, said, “This partnership reflects our shared conviction
that AI will be foundational and transformative for enterprises worldwide. By
combining Anthropic's capabilities with Tata Group’s scale, trusted
relationships, and nation-building commitment, we will accelerate enterprise
reinvention and equip India’s youth with the skills to lead in the AI era.”
K Krithivasan, CEO
and MD, TCS, said, “Enterprise AI value comes from understanding business
context, orchestrating complex systems, and applying deep AI engineering
talent. By combining Claude with our industry expertise, engineering rigor, and
large-scale transformation capabilities, we will help customers move faster to
production, especially in industries where trust, resilience, and regulatory
discipline are critical. This partnership reflects TCS’ broader strategy to
help clients become perpetually adaptive enterprises by turning frontier AI
into transformation at enterprise scale.”
Dario Amodei,
Co-founder and CEO, Anthropic, said, “We built Claude to be safe, trusted, and
helpful, particularly in contexts where accuracy matters most. This partnership
deepens our commitment to India, our second-largest market, with TCS bringing
Claude to enterprises and professionals across the region and globally,
including 50,000 of its employees.”
