TPCODL organised a
vendor meet under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft
Bijli Yojana to strengthen coordination with empanelled vendors and
accelerate rooftop solar adoption across its operational areas.
The programme was
conducted in line with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE),
Government of India’s observance of May 2026 as the “Month of Solar”, with a
focus on expediting rooftop solar implementation and enhancing awareness
regarding renewable energy adoption. As part of the Month of Solar campaign,
TPCODL is also undertaking various consumer awareness and outreach initiatives
across its operational areas to promote adoption of rooftop solar systems and
clean energy solutions.
The meeting brought
together empanelled vendors from across the region to review implementation
strategies, operational improvements and the ongoing progress under the PM
Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Around 250 vendors participated in the
programme.
During the
interactive session, vendors were encouraged to maintain high standards of
service quality and ensure timely execution of installations to facilitate a
seamless experience for consumers adopting rooftop solar solutions. The vendors
were also briefed on recent process modifications introduced by TPCODL to
streamline implementation and improve operational efficiency under the scheme.
Under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, more
than 30,000 consumers across TPCODL operational areas have already availed
benefits under the scheme. The initiative is enabling consumers to adopt clean
and affordable energy solutions through Rooftop Solar (RTS) systems, helping
households significantly reduce electricity expenses, with many consumers
benefiting from substantially lower or near-zero electricity bills.
Speaking on the occasion, TPCODL CEO Arvind Singh said, “TPCODL is fully committed to supporting the Government’s vision of expanding renewable energy adoption through the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Our vendor partners play a critical role in ensuring timely and effective implementation of rooftop solar projects. We encourage all empanelled vendors to further enhance the pace of installations during the Month of Solar campaign and contribute towards building a sustainable energy future for consumers across Central Odisha. We also appeal to consumers to actively participate in this initiative and adopt rooftop solar systems to benefit from affordable, sustainable and environment-friendly energy solutions while significantly reducing their electricity expenses.”
TPCODL continues to undertake focused initiatives for the promotion of renewable energy and remains committed to the effective implementation of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana across its operational areas.
