In a bid to take
essential healthcare services closer to rural communities and improve access to
basic medical facilities, TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) has
launched its fourth Mobile Health Dispensary (MHD) under its corporate social
responsibility (CSR) programme, ‘Aarogya’. The initiative underscores the
company’s continued commitment to strengthening grassroots healthcare and
extending medical support to underserved communities across its area of
operation.
The dispensary was
inaugurated by Gajanan Kale, Chief Odisha Distribution Business and Chief
Executive Officer (CEO) of TPCODL, in the presence of senior company officials
at the organisation’s corporate office in Bhubaneswar. The newly launched
mobile unit is expected to benefit more than 30,000 people across 120 gram panchayats
under Bhubaneswar-II Circle, covering the Nayagada, Balugaon and Khordha
electrical divisions. It will operate according to a pre-designed schedule to
ensure that healthcare services reach communities in the designated areas.
Since the inception of the initiative, more than six lakh beneficiaries have
received medical assistance across TPCODL’s operational area.
Equipped with a
qualified MBBS doctor and medical support staff, the mobile health dispensary
will provide free medical consultations and medicines to people in need. Its
services will include health check-ups, basic treatment, medical prescriptions
and the distribution of medicines. The facility will also extend referral
services to patients requiring further medical attention, wherever necessary.
In addition to providing medical assistance, the mobile unit will organise
community awareness sessions on preventive healthcare, personal hygiene,
nutrition and healthy lifestyle practices, with the aim of promoting better
health outcomes and improving overall community well-being.
“It has been our constant endeavour to extend
our support and build a healthy community. This Mobile Health Dispensary is a
testament to our commitment to enabling better and easier access to quality
healthcare. We will continue to work actively through various CSR initiatives
towards the holistic development of society,” said Gajanan Kale, Chief Odisha
Distribution Business and CEO, TPCODL.
The initiative reflects TPCODL’s continued focus on inclusive community development by addressing essential healthcare needs at the grassroots level. Through its CSR programmes, the company seeks to bridge gaps in access to basic medical services, particularly among rural and underserved populations, while encouraging greater awareness of preventive healthcare and healthy living. By taking essential medical services directly to communities, the company aims to reduce barriers to accessing healthcare and ensure that people in remote and underserved areas have better opportunities to receive timely medical assistance
Through ‘Aarogya’ and other community-focused initiatives, TPCODL seeks to contribute to the development of healthier, stronger and more empowered communities across its operational area. The launch of the fourth mobile health dispensary marks a further step in these efforts, bringing medical consultation, treatment support and health awareness closer to people’s doorsteps and reinforcing the importance of accessible healthcare as a key component of sustainable community development.
