All 33 KV feeders restored by 7 PM, entire 11 KV network normalised by 9 PM after severe Nor’wester

Demonstrating exceptional preparedness and operational excellence, TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) swiftly restored power supply across affected parts of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack after a powerful Nor’wester (Kalbaisakhi) storm caused temporary disruptions on Saturday evening.

The sudden storm, accompanied by heavy rainfall and wind speeds reaching up to 48.5 kmph, impacted electricity supply in several localities as tree branches, banners, hoardings, and other objects came into contact with power lines. Despite the challenging weather conditions, TPCODL activated its emergency response mechanism immediately, ensuring rapid restoration of services.

Emergency response teams, field personnel, and project staff were promptly mobilised across the affected areas. Their coordinated and determined efforts enabled restoration of all 33 KV feeders by 7 PM, followed by complete normalisation of all 11 KV feeders by 9 PM, significantly minimising inconvenience to consumers.

TPCODL's dedicated teams, including linesmen and maintenance personnel, worked tirelessly on the ground, clearing obstructions and undertaking restoration work with utmost efficiency while strictly adhering to safety protocols.
