TP Central Odisha
Distribution Limited (TPCODL) will organise the third National Lok Adalat and
Settlement Camp across its operational areas on September 12 to facilitate speedy
and amicable resolution of cases related to unauthorised use of electricity and
power theft.
The initiative, being
conducted under the framework of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA),
aims to provide consumers with an accessible, transparent and time-bound
mechanism for settling pending enforcement-related cases.
The Lok Adalat will
be held from 10 am to 5 pm at all division, sub-division and section offices
under TPCODL's jurisdiction. Eligible consumers will be able to seek
on-the-spot assistance for settlement of enforcement cases and regularisation
of electricity connections.
TPCODL, a joint
venture of Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, has appealed to consumers
with pending enforcement cases to utilise the opportunity to resolve disputes
amicably and avoid potential legal and financial complications.
To facilitate the
process, dedicated teams comprising enforcement officials, legal professionals
and trained support staff have been deployed at designated locations. The teams
will assist consumers with documentation, eligibility requirements and
settlement procedures.
District-wise arrangements and detailed settlement guidelines have been made available at TPCODL offices, while consumers can also approach their nearest Customer Care Centre for assistance.
Organised in coordination with legal authorities, the third National Lok Adalat is expected to help reduce long-pending enforcement disputes, strengthen consumer grievance redressal and promote transparent and consumer-centric power governance across Central Odisha.
