its impactful contributions to corporate social responsibility and operational
innovation, reaffirming its growing reputation as a forward-looking power

The utility has been
widely applauded at national platforms for integrating social development
initiatives with modern power distribution practices, positioning itself as a
model organization in both community engagement and operational excellence.
TPNODL received the
“Best CSR Initiatives in Vocational Training and Skilling” award at the Bharat
CSR & Sustainability Summit and Awards 2026 held in Mumbai, recognising its
sustained efforts to enhance youth employability through structured vocational
training programmes. In another significant achievement, the company was
honoured with the ISGF Innovation Award 2026 during the 12th India Smart
Utility Week in New Delhi, where it secured Gold Awards for its pioneering
projects titled “Smart DT Load Management using smart meters and GIS data” and
“Sunishchit-Smart AB Switch Operation.” These initiatives highlight the
company’s commitment to deploying advanced technology to strengthen power
distribution efficiency and reliability.
Gajanan Kale, Chief –
Odisha Distribution Business and CEO of TPNODL, received the awards in the
presence of company officials Sachin Kumar Garg, Vedprakash Upadhyay, and Himanshu
Nayak at the respective events.
Kale attributed the
recognition to the dedication and collective efforts of TPNODL employees,
stating that the achievement would further strengthen the company's commitment
to reliable power supply and technological excellence. He reaffirmed TPNODL's
efforts to community development and social empowerment through public welfare
programs.
As part of its
inclusive development initiatives, TPNODL has established six free vocational
training centres across its operational areas, empowering more than 4,000 young
people with employable skills in spoken English, tailoring, beautician
services, and computer education. These programmes are designed to improve
livelihood opportunities and promote self-reliance among youth in Northern
Odisha.
The company’s focus on innovation-driven operations and customer-centric practices has also significantly strengthened electricity service delivery while improving efficiency and network reliability across the region. Reflecting this performance, TPNODL has earned an impressive A+ rating among power distribution companies in the 14th Integrated Rating and Ranking Report released by the Union Ministry of Power.
