Strengthening its commitment to consumer-centric service delivery, TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) on Friday inaugurated its fourth dedicated metering store at Rairangpur, marking another significant step towards enhancing accessibility, transparency and efficiency in electricity-related services across northern Odisha.

The new facility was inaugurated by TPNODL CEO Dushyant Kumar Tyagi, in the presence of Nilesh Potphode, Chief-Operation Services, Pradeep Kumar Mohanty, Cheif -Projects, Debadutta Panda, SE, Baripada and company other officials and key stakeholders.

The inauguration forms part of TPNODL’s ambitious plan to establish 13 dedicated metering stores across its operational areas in northern Odisha. The initiative began with the launch of the first store at Balia in Balasore district in August 2025, followed by similar facilities at Joda and Anandpur in Keonjhar district. With the Rairangpur store now operational, the utility company is set to roll out nine more such centres in the coming months, with Jaleswar among the next locations in the pipeline.

Speaking at the event, CEO Tyagi highlighted the company’s vision of delivering seamless and consumer-friendly services. “Our metering stores are designed to bring efficiency, transparency and convenience to our consumers. This initiative is a step forward in strengthening our service delivery and ensuring that every consumer has easy access to metering solutions,” he said.

The dedicated metering stores are envisioned as localized service hubs aimed at addressing a wide range of consumer requirements related to electricity meters. Equipped with mini testing benches, the facilities will allow consumers to verify the accuracy and performance of their meters on-site, thereby enhancing transparency in billing and reducing the scope for disputes. The stores will also provide comprehensive support for meter installation, replacement and billing-related concerns, creating a one-stop solution for consumers.

By bringing essential metering services directly to communities, TPNODL aims to reduce waiting times, improve responsiveness and build greater consumer confidence in the power distribution system.
