Celebrating the spirit of freedom while reaffirming its
commitment to a greener and more sustainable future, TP Northern Odisha
Distribution Limited (TPNODL) commemorated India’s 80th Independence Day with
patriotic fervour across its corporate office and key office establishments in
Northern Odisha. The celebrations brought together employees, consumers and
stakeholders in a collective reaffirmation of the values of nation-building,
responsible citizenship and sustainable development. The occasion also highlighted
TPNODL’s growing focus on rooftop solar adoption, with 20 consumers felicitated
as ‘Solar Champions’ for championing clean energy and inspiring wider community
participation.
The ceremonial proceedings commenced at TPNODL’s corporate
office in Baleshwar with the hoisting of the National Flag by Dushyant Kumar
Tyagi, Chief Executive Officer, TPNODL, in the presence of the company’s
executive leadership team, employees, consumers and key stakeholders.
Addressing the gathering, CEO Tyagi extended his warm wishes
on the occasion and emphasised the importance of honouring the legacy and
sacrifices of the nation’s freedom fighters by contributing to the creation of
an inclusive, just and prosperous India. He reiterated TPNODL’s commitment to
supporting regional and national development through reliable power delivery,
uncompromising safety standards, technology-led transformation and a strong
consumer-first approach.
Underscoring the importance of the energy transition, Tyagi said that accelerating the adoption of solar energy is a strategic
imperative for long-term environmental sustainability and greater consumer
energy independence. He highlighted the need for collective participation in
advancing clean energy solutions and building a more sustainable energy future
for communities across Northern Odisha.
In alignment with the Government’s vision for clean and
renewable energy, TPNODL felicitated 20 consumers from five electrical circles
as ‘Solar Champions’ for their active advocacy of green energy adoption through
rooftop solar installations under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and the
ULA Model. The recognition celebrated consumers who have embraced rooftop solar
and encouraged others in their communities to explore sustainable energy solutions.
Employees who have been instrumental in driving the rooftop
solar initiative at the grassroots level were also recognised and awarded for
their dedication and efforts in promoting wider adoption of rooftop solar
across TPNODL’s operational areas.
The celebrations concluded with TPNODL employees taking a
collective pledge to uphold the organisation’s core values of integrity, safety
and customer-centricity. The pledge reaffirmed TPNODL’s resolve to continue
powering Northern Odisha with reliable, safe and sustainable energy solutions
while contributing meaningfully to India’s journey towards a cleaner and more
resilient energy future.
