TP Western Odisha
Distribution Limited (TPWODL), a joint venture between Tata Power and the
Government of Odisha, will participate in the 3rd National Lok Adalat on
September 12, offering consumers an opportunity to settle pending electricity
theft and assessment cases through a fast, transparent and conciliatory
process.
The National Lok
Adalat is being organised across the country by the National Legal Services
Authority (NALSA) in coordination with the Odisha State Legal Services
Authority (OSLSA). The proceedings will be held from 10 am to 5 pm.
As part of its
arrangements for the initiative, TPWODL has set up dedicated help desks at all
its Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) and Section Offices to assist consumers in
completing documentation, verification, registration and payment-related
formalities.
Consumers having
pending electricity theft and assessment cases have been encouraged to visit
their nearest SDO or Section Office in advance and complete the necessary
preliminary formalities to ensure a smoother and quicker process during the
National Lok Adalat.
The initiative is
aimed at facilitating the timely resolution of eligible cases through an
accessible dispute-settlement mechanism, while reducing the need for prolonged
legal proceedings and helping bring pending matters to closure through mutual
conciliation.
Through its participation in the National Lok Adalat, TPWODL said it seeks to provide consumers with a transparent and convenient platform for resolving eligible electricity-related disputes and completing the required formalities in a streamlined manner.
TPWODL is responsible for electricity distribution and retail supply across western Odisha and serves more than two million consumers across nine districts. Its distribution network covers an area of approximately 48,000 square kilometres.
