Utkal Alumina International Ltd (UAIL), a subsidiary of Hindalco Industries under the Aditya Birla Group, has stepped up its education-focused community outreach by launching its annual test-paper distribution programme for Class X students in villages surrounding its plant site.

Under the initiative, 612 Class X students from eight schools in the vicinity of the plant will receive test papers aimed at strengthening their examination preparedness and improving academic performance. The programme commenced on Wednesday at Government High School, Tikiri, where test papers were distributed among 230 students.

The distribution will continue over the next two days at Government High School, Hadiguda; Government High School, Kodipari; SSD High School, Gorakhpur; SSD High School, Thutibar; SSD Girls’ High School, Dangasil; Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir, Tikiri; and Panchayat High School, Kucheipadar.

The programme at Tikiri was attended by UAIL Head–CSR Lopamudra Mishra, Diganta Mohanty and Satyabhama Nayak, besides SMC President Siu Majhi, Tikiri Sarpanch Jagabandhu Majhi and teachers of the school.

Addressing the students, Mishra stressed that discipline and a sense of responsibility are as important as academic education. She urged the students to study regularly, remain disciplined in their daily lives and approach their examinations with dedication.

Mohanty, while interacting with the students, shared simple techniques to help them retain lessons more effectively and make their examination preparation more systematic and productive.

School teacher Ranjit Mishra said the distribution of test papers has been helping students prepare more effectively for their Board examinations. The initiative, he said, has supported students in improving their pass percentage and achieving higher marks. He also expressed gratitude to UAIL’s CSR team for continuing the educational initiative.

The annual programme underscores UAIL’s sustained focus on education as a key pillar of its community development initiatives and reflects the company’s efforts to support the holistic development of students and communities in the region.
